ELPA21 Training Courses for the Alt-OELPA

Ohio’s membership in ELPA21 provides Ohio educators administering the Alternate Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (Alt-OELPA) with three, self-paced, online training courses. There is a course for test coordinators, a course for first-time test administrators, and a refresher course for test administrators who already have completed the first-time test administrator course. Here are the course titles to help you find them on the ELPA21 Training System:

  • Alt ELPA Module: Test Coordinator Training for SY 2023-2024
  • Alt ELPA Module: 1st Time Test Administrator Training for SY 2023-2024
  • Alt ELPA Module: Refresher Test Administrator Training for SY 2023-2024

All test coordinators and test administrators at schools administering the Alt-OELPA are required to complete training before testing. Upon completion of each course, educators can download a Certificate of Completion that can be kept on file as a record of training.

There are two ways to create an account to access the trainings:

  1. Directions for creating an account using a Google email address
  2. Directions for creating an account using a non-Google email address

Note: The district verification code you will need to create an account is elpa21 (all lowercase, no spaces). If you have accessed the ELPA21 Training System in the past, you should be able to login with the credentials you established previously.
